Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Does anyone have an experience of going to live in their parents country of origin?

Years ago when Britain was getting its economy back together after the war, they advertised in British colonies for young men and women to come to Britain to work.

Many Asians, Africans and West Indians came over in the 50s and 60s to find work and ended up staying forever.

A trend has started, it’s not new but it’s a trend all the same. The children of these migrant workers have been emigrating to their parents' country of origin to start a new life. My hairdresser has recently emigrated to Jamaica and is one of the happiest people I know. She loves the climate, her living conditions, the cost of living and her lifestyle and only visits the UK when necessary. She would never swap her large house with double garage, massive back garden, spralling lawn and swimming pool for a little two bedroom house in Balham where she used to have to pay the council £70 a year for a permit to park on her own road.

Also I went to Barbados a couple of years ago and met two British guys who were living in their parents’ country of origin and they both said that life couldn't get much better.
